Research Project: Fundamentally this is a "Research Paper" done as a team. However, no grades, no writing, and no deadlines.

Self-Directed Teams: These teams require more coordination among the team members. Roles and responsibilities, who is investigating what, how much online and in-person sharing is needed, avoid rabbit holes and tangents, etc.

Structure of Inquiry:

  1. Clear statement of what we are investigating. Vague or broad questions are difficult to research since they lead to 1000’s of resources. Meet and discuss the specific question(s) you want to answer. Outline is helpful.

  2. If the scope is narrow, each person could research the same topic and everyone share their individual findings. (Videos, articles, physical references, etc.)

  3. If the scope is broader, each person could take a different sub-topic and share their findings with their team. Determine subsequent questions for deeper analysis, if needed.

  4. Have the original questions been answered? If so, congratulations. If not, then what is still missing? How do we fill the gaps in our understanding?
